My original comment wasn't a reflection on that type of music overall, but what us older people tend to think (again, I don't claim to speak for everyone). My music of choice is Greenday, Foo Fighters, etc, but back in my youth (*wipes tear from eye) it was The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Stiff Little Fingers, or as my dad used to call it 'that shite you call music'. I think it's a generation thing, but also for me it's more about what I perceive as the effort put into it as well. So many people call themselves 'a band' when they aren't. A band has a drummer, guitarist, bass. etc. If you play instruments, your a band, if you just sing then your 'a group'. Likewise, there are so many people these days that answer the question 'what do you do?' with the reply 'I'm a DJ' just because they have a Spectrum ZX81 (ask your parents) in their bedroom. I appreciatte all types of music, my generic mp3 music player has Holst; The Planets right through to ACDC, through to Rizzle Kicks. Bottom line; you like a certain piece of music or you don't, but for me, all out dubstep i just noise.
